...we discussed a recently finished project - it is an uncommon way of a reconstruction. So, we thought we can introduce this new approach to interested colleges.
The church of Lessines, Belgium had two stained glass windows, which were in very bad condition - some panels survived only as fragments. The missing parts had been so extensive, that we thought a historic imitation would not be the right way of closing those areas. At one point we discussed an unusual way of showing the new parts in an aesthetic way without interference the original. Finally we used a modern pixel-technique similar to a technique, which is often used in reconstruction and touch in of wall paintings.
In application for a stained glass window this was totally new for us. Attached you will find some pictures of our result.
